Bf4 graphics/cpu help?

Hi all! I'm currently running a Radeon 7770hd 1gb card along with a amd fx-4100 (4core 3.8ghz) and looking to play battlefield 4! I can play on low setting but do experience lag! Bf4 recommended processor is 6core which i found one and I can afford it but I don't wanna assume it's my cpu and find out that's not the problem! I have about $300ish to spend... so basically I'm asking what do I need to play Bf4 on ultra or high without performance issues? A new cpu & gpu combo, or just new cpu? Or just new gpu? Please help!
