I finished building my first pc a few weeks ago, and I wonder if I could run BF4 on very high and get good performance.
my system is:
gigabyte z87 mobo
4770k no overclock
GTX 770 2gb from asus non-ref-card
8gb ram 1600mhz
win 8.1 pro
oh and EVO MZ-7TE120BW (2.5", 120GB, SATA/600)
What is my best choice of settings?

I think you are all set for ultra!!

70-80 is a bit too much for the 770. 70-80 fps is the reason why the $500+ cards are there 😛

If you say so!! maybe you are lucky, I neither have the 770 nor I play BF4.

Windows 8 64-bit:
Just FYI, but Windows 8 is getting up to 25% better performance over Windows 7. That's not typical, but BF4 was tweaked specifically to get that extra performance.

The reports are pretty confusing as the numbers reported completely vary so I suspect it's lower on average.

Mantle:
I know he has a GX770, but it's interesting to note that Windows has announced their DX API is getting improved. Whether they mean DX11.2, or DX12 isn't completely clear.

What IS clear is that Microsoft is threatened by Mantle and intends to actually work harder to improve DirectX. Yeah!!

So that's good news for everybody, especially NVidia users for the future.

Yea im surprised my fps is that high on ultra settings as well considering the fact that so many people on BF4 complain about low fps even with high system specs. For example some one in game chat was telling me that they have a 3960x and a 780ti and would drop down to 30-40 fps. Who knows if thats really true or not but from the amount of complaints I have heard about it I wouldn't be surprised.
