I find it very annoying that I do not reach the recommended requirements for Battlefield 4. I have
Intel Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz, GTX 770 2bg, Windows 7.

Now I find that because ,probably Microsoft payed EA some money, I have windows 7 64 bit .....I don't meet the recommended requirements because I need windows 8 64 bit. As if there is any difference....really? Come on. Well...... no game changing difference and then the other reason is that I need 3gb video ram. OK firstly I have a GTX 770 A BEAST of all that is insane and then I'm not like running a two monitor setup here.

All I'm saying is, will be able to run battlefield 4 @60 fps on ultra right? I can settle for 50fps+

Solution

yeah it runs it better i guess if you call maybe a frame or 2 better (and that isnt on every game either) but then everything else on 8 functions horribly there is a reason microsoft had to pull 7 off of store shelves (because they knew they couldnt sell a box of crap labeled windows 8) espcially once people could compare the two.

But you do...

LOL. You do. you have probably seen this on 'Can you run it?'. CYRI? doesn't work they update their Requirements from internet and random forums. If you go to steam and then go to their site you will see that they are not connected. Believe me you can run it on high in Beta and maybe in when it gets out because DICE is know by fucking up their game. BF3 worked really good on my PC i beta but started working slower and slower after every update. So yeah you can run it at highest.

I doubt that you need Windows 8 to play BF4, and it was a good move to make people update to Windows 7, it had new featuresets that old versions of Windows didn't have. But you'll be fine for BF$ with your current setup.

Actually Windows 8 does have better performances with games. And if its pissing you off you can turn off the "made for touch" part of the Windows and just have weird looking Windows 7 😀 I am still using Windows 7 but im planning on upgrading to 8 (if there is no info for the better one cumming out)

yeah im not looking to upgrade to windows 8 thanks and anyway ik i wont need windows 8 to run it. I was wondering about frame rate oh and i really couldnt give a shit if windows 8 runs game a little better, it looks and feels shit to use.

I really cant tell you that but you should have 30-40 FPS on ULTRA in normal fights and 20-35 in big fights, on high 40-50 on small and 30-40 on BIG fights so you get it the lower setting it is the more FPS you get. Around 10-15 every time your setting go lower.

errmmmm on bf3 atm i get 60 fps consistantly and far cry 3, all on ultra but i think you're looking into this whole 'next-gen games' a bit too much. I probably will get 50fps consitantly idk i really have no clue but I do now that I have a gtx 770. Not to say that means I can run everything amazingly but.....it is a 770 😀

i dont say that 770 is a bad GPU but its not everything about GPU. Even PCs that are used at E3 ware played on GPU pretty close to yours and needed to play on HIGH to MEDIUM to get good FPS. Now i think there is a video where a guy cranks up the game to ULTRA but as he says it worked much slower in big fights where there are 2 tanks and allot of people and explosives involved.

true true however it is in beta so you would hope DICE to make some performance improvements soon-ish

Well if you played beta of BF3 you will probably know that it worked better than the final release, plus the loading times ware much fatser.

yeah

ahhh too true 😀 seriously its the worst thing to use ever. Makes sense tho ME=crap, XP=good, Vista=crap, 7=good, 8=well yeah....

I didnt actually say that because i think that, it has been benchmarked and its not 2 frames it was 5-10 more FPS.

agreed

im not sure where at on microsofts website you found that but by most actual user accounts it seems a very slight AVERAGE FPS difference look at most of the reviews and compare the big named websites to the ones done by people on youtube.. or try it yourself (if you haven't already) i have its slight frame increase it gives on some games isn't worth the hassel so i upgraded to windows7 and never looked back. i find it funny they had to send out an update to make it so people could log into a normal desktop instead the the weird block app crap.. seems like it becoming more and more like windows 7

and why wouldnt they try to revert it back into windows 7...it was perfection in its self. sure no OS has no faults but damn... it was/is goooood

Actually they are, now you can go and turn off the touch screen thingy so you can use it like normal windows 7

ah fair enough but it will still have some windows 8 annoyances

I feel you bro 😀 I want to change for the FPS boost and better performances but il keep playing on Windows 7 untill windows 9 that is better than 8 gets out XD

i just see windows 8 as a failed attempt by microsoft they wanted to all but force consumers to use it so we can go into the app generation and be able to use tablets and pcs and probably phones flawlessly together but yet now they realize that hey maybe that wasnt such a good idea because if someone wanted something to function like a tablet well just maybe they would of bought a tablet... not a pc.. im very curious if windows 9 is going back to the good old roots or are they just going to try and plant another weed....

Im expecting from "Windows 9" to be something like Windows 7, its an upgrade by any way but it still feels like you are at home. I think that people who are coming from Windows XP are going to get lost in Windows 8, even Win 7 users get lost in 8.
