Biggest physical stores in UK

Hello,

I need to buy the bits for a new reasonably high powered system. But for various tax reasons I'd prefer to pay cash which means I need to know where the best physical stores are. I am in the south of England, so can reach the London area pretty easily and can hit the Midlands if there's something amazing up there. But is there? Does anyone know of any giant flagship/warehouse type places where I can hook myself up with the bits I need?

I could probably go to my friendly local PC place and get them to do order the bits, but they will bend me over the counter. So any ideas appreciated.

Well, scan computers over at Horwich Parkway in Bolton are probably the best shop to visit. What taxes are you referring about?

Thanks, VAT in the main. Sadly Bolton is a bit far north for me, I get altitude sickness anywhere above Birmingham

I heard that in the future Ebuyer might open up stores. thats a few years away though
