Guys yahoo is becoming a media company now. In the past, they couldn't decide if they wanted to compete with Google or other media companies. It's blatantly obvious now.

[citation][nom]cronik93[/nom]We got some Bing users that like to rate comments low. Sorry you fall for Microsofts advertisements. I sure hope this doesn't end up like IBM and NetScape.[/citation]

You must have missed the time when Google bought the largest web ad company. They now own most of the adds on the web.

Besides. Its better to actually have competition than just Google taking over the web and your life.

[citation][nom]eyefinity[/nom]Bing = Microsoft = inherintly corrupt.[/citation]

Any large company is. In fact Google is no better. If you bother to look, every piece of google software installs a bunch of extra background stuff for Google that also likes to watch what you do online so they can advertise.

its all normal. But to say microsoft is corrupt and Google isn't. Hah.

Isn't, like ... half of Bing's "search volume" generated by the free word puzzles they host at Club Bing? Every time you do a crossword puzzle or something like that, Bing does 50-100 irrelevant automatic "searches" in a box below for the words you type. They're not even trying to cover up the fact that it's done just to pump up their search volume numbers.

Yahoo lost my vote the minute their new (and rather idiotic CEO) proclaimed "Google is only a search engine, Yahoo is much more!". Yahoo's latest developments are more to do with seeing who is going to be the next company to overtake them on the market! Bunch of Yahoos!

I regularly use several search engines, if I dont get what I am looking for then other options come in handy.
I still use Alta Vista for several things including it's Babel Fish translator.

[citation][nom]rantoc[/nom]Use both, depending on what i want to searc for. Both are good in their own ways![/citation]
Same here, I use Bing for every day searches and use Google exclusively for porn

Oh yeah! Google's share is on the decline but am not a big fan of M$ so for the competition sake I welcome this news. What's happening with Yahoo? Are waiting for a takeover?

Yahoo should have just accept the merge offer instead of this "partnership" deal with Microsoft. Now they have shot themselves in the foot and dying slowly. Sad to see the very first major search engine go away like this.

someone recommended bing a while back saying it doesnt collect user data like google does, i havent switched back since then, but thats cuz of the quality, not the privacy issues

Would you kindly READ THE F****** ARTICLE before posting. Thank you very much.

I get so tired of of subhumans animals saying something ignorant like "Microsoft = Corrupt". What the the hell does that even mean? MS is a publicly traded American company with a legal and moral obligation to serve its shareholders. I'm highly critical of MS in many respects, but I have to point out that particular comment is the most ignorant thing I've seen in at least a week. What a douchebag.

Hey does anybody remember Lycos? "Lycos, go get it", ah good times, good times.

I don't know if I believe this study either...Bing isn't that great of a search engine - I prefer Google, like most people. The only plus side to Bing is the buzzdock realtime search engine at the top of the results page, that is if you have the plugin installed.
