meh, windows 7 works just fine for me. don't get wrong, it's like I'm not going to keep an eye on what happens to W8. Will be interesting whether it's a Boom or Bust as a OS...or maybe even both (boom for mobile seg but a bust for desktop seg)

I'm excited about the quad buffer support in directx 11.1 which will add 3d support in Windows 8. It'll be enough for me to upgrade to Windows 8 when it goes retail.

[citation][nom]nebun[/nom]the only way i would upgrade if they were to use my GPU instead of the CPU....talk about speed[/citation]

It will. The HTML5 engine for apps is already GPU accelerated, so HTML5-coded Metro apps get that right away without any additional coding. The Metro UI is already GPU accelerated too (but then, so is Aero).

I'm still using XP. I'll upgrade my mini tower to windows 9 in about 3 years. My laptop will probably go to linux later this year.

Luddites like you are the reason why the computing world doesn't move forward, and why we had things like Windows 7 Starter and Vista Home Basic.
