MSI Z370 SLI PLUS motherboard.
250GB Samsung Evo 6Gbs SSD. (EMPTY/NEW)
128GB ADATA 6Gbs SSD (WIN 7 PARTITION)
DVD Writer 3Gbs
Thermaltake 750W PSU

Im trying to use my new WIN 10 on the Samsung EVO, but im having a hard time booting drives. The ADATA doesnt even show in the bios, neither does the DVD writer. Im not sure what to do next. This new build ia frustrating the hell out of me. The sata cables to PSU is not the issue, i have tested them.

For information, the ADATA is from my previous build. My boot menu is LEGACY-UEFI. Only UEFI shows Samsung EVO connected, if not selected no sata appears in bios. Cannot boot into sata drives is my issue.

Are any of these drives M.2 SSD's? Check page 32 and 33 of your manual. The SATA1, SATA5 and SATA6 ports will become unavailable with some conditions of M.2 devices.

* Important
- The SATA1 / SATA5 port will be unavailable when an M.2 SATA SSD module has been
installed in the M2_1/ M2_2 slot.

Ok... im using ports 3 and 4. My DVD drive and Samsung SSD still do not show. The SSD only shows in bios when i change boot from LEGACY+UEFI to UEFI only. It doesnt matter tho since i cant install WIN 10.

When you boot, is your Windows 10 disk in the DVD drive?

I cant open the optical drive. It needs to be recognized by bios for it to even power on i suppose. Could it be because it is 3Gbs optical drive and i only have 6Gbs connector or is it okay?

That does not matter, SATA 6Gbs is backwards compatible with SATA 3Gbs.

It is not clear to me why your drives do not appear in the BIOS. Your manual states if a connected SATA or M.2 device does not appear in the System Status section of the BIOS, re-check SATA cables and power cables.

* Important
If the connected SATA device is not displayed, turn off computer and re-check SATA
cable and power cable connections of the device and motherboard.
