Got a BIOS boot issue I cant figure out...Help please!

  • Added a 250g SSD.
    Installed W10 from CD
With old HDD data cable upplugged, sys boots great from new SSD (fast!)
Reset BIO boot order, 1-SSD and disabled HDD from boot list
With HDD connected get error “Insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key”
Have reset BIOS several time, disabled DVD and HDD from boot list, but if old HDD is connected it will not boot from SSD...yet.

    Thoughts?

Update: After like 6-8 reboots with same config (double checking settings), it started booting from SSD, but would not recog the HDD, after several more reboots, it finally behaves as desired. Now copying files/docs/pics over to SSD, and will eventually reformat HDD, once reasonably confident I not missing anything critical.
THX for feedback.
