Hey Everyone,
Last month, or so, I powered on my PC and received a "BIOS Failure" message. I'm not 100% sure what else it said as I lazily clicked through it in order to play some games. The first thing I noticed was that my fans, especially my CPU fan, started acting up. When it is only under about 50% utilization it will run at about 1700 RPM, nearly max. When nothing is open on my computer, it is nice a silent, which is how it used to run no matter the load.
Temperature seems fine, even when streaming/playing games/listening to music/running 3 monitors. Sitting at around 50 degrees celsius, but the fan is still pumped up to 100%. I've reviewed my BIOS fan settings, nothing changed there, it's still set to "Silent"
Hardware:
GIGABYTE GA‑Z270X‑Ultra Gaming
i7 7700k
MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V
I've updated my BIOS, rolled back my BIOS, reapplied thermal paste, but nothing has fixed the issue. I can't even open up Google Chrome without my CPU fan jumping to 100%. As mentioned, prior to this failure, nothing of the sorts would happen. The fan would rarely hit 900 RPM while playing games like WoW, and watching a Twitch stream at the same time (temps about the same).
Any ideas on what could've happened? Is my motherboard possibly faulty? Heat sensors faulty?
Any help would be great, let me know if you guys need more info!
Thanks
