I'm building my first PC i followed every step to flash teh bios but when I press the button nothing happens, no lights no power.
I'm kind of scared, what should I do? I plugged in the 24 pin connector and the 8 pin connector to my motherboard. put in the usb with the correct named file, nothing happens!

Solution
We will need to know the make and model of your motherboard and the processor you've got paired with said (unknown)motherboard. Make and model of the PSU used in the build? Also, for some boards, there's a specific USB port that will work in BIOS Flashback mode, regardless of which brand you're on. The next thing to take note of, which is stated in the motherboard manual, is to either have a USB drive with the BIOS file on the root directory, while the pen drive is in FAT32 file format, others might be okay with not renaming the BIOS ROM file and with NTFS file format.

So if you will, please list the specs to your entire build in case something might be off. There should also be a sticker on the motherboard stating the BIOS version the...

This is all I have plugged into to try do the bios flash. White light inside usb port flashed 3 times when i press button

MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI AMD X570 Chipset (Socket AM4) ATX Motherboard
Corsair HX Series HX850 850 Watt 80 PLUS Platinum Certified Fully Modular PSU

I downloaded the bios file and extracted it and renamed it MSI.ROM. Plugged into the USB slot next to the flash bios button, switched the PSU switch. Press the flash bios button and nothing happens. Ocassionally I see a white light inside the USB port (not my usb) it flashes and doesn't come back. It's been 20mins and nothing has happened.
