Hi,
My pc was running perfectly well until I decided to move the components to a new case.
Now when I start the PC I get this message and bios stops.

I have disconnected all hard drives, there is a ubuntu cd in the cd-rom drive. I have set cd-rom
at the top in boot priority, i have reset bios by getting the battery out for several minutes.
Every connection except power button from case is disconnected. Swapped several memory modules.
MB perfectly detects all the IDE devices.
It wont boot into HDD or CD. It just hangs, is my MB dead?

I have done everything mentioned here

List of procedures followed.
1. Disconnect all the devices. Just keep the power switch cable connected and see if No boot device found message comes up.
2. Restore bios to default setting and try to see no boot device found message is displayed.
3. Follow the same procedure a 1 and 2 by, taking the motherboard out of the case and putting it on the top of insulating surface, taking the battery out of motherboard and enforcing bios reset, upgrading bios to the newest version.

If all of the above methods fail to get the bios past ACPI Controller then that means motherboard is dead. The motherboard should be trying to find a boot device after this message and it fails to do that. I dont know the exact reason why it happens but for most of us mere mortals it means shelling out extra cash for a new motherboard.
