BIOS issue with R9 280

I've got an LGA775 motherboard and I saved up for a graphics card. SInce I'm planning on setting up a new rig anyway, I went all-out with the graphics card for an R9 280. At first I thought it was broken, but it turns out I was just a whimp and didn't push it in all the way.

Now, I've got a completely different problem. The card is working, no doubt-- even when not connected to the dual 6-pin connectors, my R9 280's Sapphire-labeled LED button will light up when I press it. If it's plugged in correctly as I start up, though, I hear an obnoxious series of beeps and my computer fails to start up. I believe this is a BIOS issue. So, where can I get the latest drivers for motherboards with PCIE 2.0 and the Q45/Q43 Express Chipset?

If it helps, the prebuilt I'm working with is a Lenovo Thinkcentre M58 7244A35. I've tried to find out what motherboard I have, but all I can see is that it's got a Lenovo and Intel logo on it (and that it's LGA 775, with a Q45 Chipset, Intel GMA 4500 integrated graphics).

I'm actually on a slow upgrade path. This Lenovo prebuilt (now Project: Refined Carbon) is sporting a CX500M (which fits the power needs of the processor and R9 inside), and I'll keep it in this computer when I have a new rig set up from scratch. The 750w requirement is for crossfire... and even if some models of the Sapphire Dual-X R9 280 have it, keep this in mind: this thing's older than I thought it would be. It uses a bridge for crossfire... obsolete much? :??:

Anyway, my older brother called up an old friend of his while I was gone, who knew a lot more about building computers than I do. He updated the BIOS while I was gone, and it works fine now-- Payday 2 maxes out never dropping below 100 FPS, and Red Faction: Guerilla (DX11, Steam Edition) runs at close to max settings while keeping a solid 55 FPS (bottlenecked by Pentium E6600). Having a great time so far, thanks to everyone who took the time to make a response!

Would your brother happen to know what the BIOS version was ?

Trying to set up the same PC with a Radeon R7 240 and having no luck with my current BIOS recognising the card so any leads would be great

Cheers
