I bought a new PC a week ago and I noticed that sometimes when i boot up windows task manager shows that i only have 1 RAM stick instead of two, but then if i go to bios the two RAM sticks show up. Usually the problem goes away if I shut down the PC and reboot it (but not if I restart). I'm still unsure what is causing it.

XMP is enabled
Bios version f3

Some pictures of the issue:

This motherboard?

https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_z790-gx-series_e.pdf

[Verify that I found the applicable User Manual.]

Double check supported RAM via physically numbered Page 7 (Memory) and via Gigabytes's website.

How are you installing the RAM sticks?

Reference physically numbered Page 13 (Paragraph 2.4) regarding the placement of RAM modules.

It appears that you are using the correct slots (A2 and B2). However, check to ensure that each slot is clear of debris and that the RAM stick is fully and firmly seated.

Also curious: The DRAM status show 4800 while Memory frequency is showing 5600.

Note:

Some pop-up list of viral videos is blocking the right side view of the screen image you provided. I cannot get the list to go away. ????

Didn't even notice that about the DRAM showing 4800, maybe the default is 4800 and XMP is making it 5600? I really don't know, is it something I should be worried about?

Sorry about that, the image is showing up fine on my PC

Here's a Google photos link, should work

For now, go with @Fix_that_Glitch 's suggestion regarding CPU-z.

Powershell can also provide a great deal of RAM information from a "Windows" viewpoint and that, in my mind, would be another way to delve in deeper.

Cmdlet =

Get-WmiObject Win32_PhysicalMemory | Format-List *

As for the image, the google link is clear and sharp without ad's etc. However, the google image is only showing the left side of the "Gigabyte" information screen.

The right side of the screen, which I originally believed was being masked over by the pop-up viral listing, does not appear at all in the Google link.
