bios rom checksum error

hi there. i tried to start my comp and it gave me: "award bootblock bios v1.0 / copyright © 2000 award software, Inc / BIOS ROM chechsum error. detecting floppy drive A media insert dystem disk and press enter." i succeeded to enter A: with a boot disk, and tried with another disk to install AWARDFLASH_826G_DOS.EXE which seems to be the file i need to install bios on my biostar U8668 Pro motherboard. but didnt work again. it said: "System was not new AWARD BIOS version!
Please updata ROM Bios first" - not very good english i'd say. what can i do more? maybe the file award... is not good? please help me if u can! thanks in advance!

You'll see that message "BIOS ROM checksum error" when the CMOS battery is dead and requires replacement.

thanks for the prompt answer, i changed it but still doesnt wanna help any good. what could be done? i think bios rom checksum error is different from cmos checksum error...

Did you go through and set the clock to the correct time/date as well as setting the other things that will need setting after changing the battery?

Well i cannot access the bios, like said, all my comp says is:"award bootblock bios v1.0 / copyright © 2000 award software, Inc / BIOS ROM chechsum error. detecting floppy drive A media insert system disk and press enter." Otherwise i could have tried some more... I couldn't find some bios driver for my mobo so i tried some files from other likewise mobos. The program tolld me flash unknown. So... what is that bios rom? How can i find it and what to do?

or where can i find the bios file for a mobo Biostar U8668Pro Ver 1.2 ? It should be smth like xxxxxx.bin or xxxxxx.bf or xxxxx.bsa or smth alike ....

BIOS updates are found on the motherboard manufacturer's website.

Since that's the only place you will find it, if there's nothing there, there's nothing to find.

sometimes there are other sites where such crap can occure.... i only am not able to find it... unfortunately
