Bios showing 3/4 cores

Running a pc built in 2011, on boot bios shows 3 cores activated with. 4 core processor. Msconfig allows me to select 4 cores as number of processors. Task manager shows cpu 0-2. Never changed mobo or processor on this system. Built myself so I know there's never been anything changed out other than a video card. Should I just remove battery and see what that does any other ideas? And phenom 2 quad 900 series. Thanks guys

Ha sorry apparently I was either drunk one night and manually turned off a core in bios or had a psu issue and don't remember it. Tha ks anyways guys take care.
