I tried updating the BIOS from version P01-A3 to P11.A4 on my Gateway SX2370 but when I run the Flash.bat file I get an error message saying "Error: ROM file size does not match existing BIOS size."

I'm pretty sure it is. I got the correct make and model, and every other available file is for Windows 8 and Linux. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit, by the way.

...It's absolutely is the correct BIOS (unless Gateway posted the wrong BIOS for the board but somehow I doubt thats the case.

http://support.gateway.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=3929 shows (on BIOS tab):
Gateway P11.A4 2.6 MB 06/11/2013

I too have an sx2370, also running Windows 7 Home Prem. x64 and also am having the exact same error when I attempt to use the (completely uncompressed) flash batch file in the WIN directory that is available as download from above mentioned url. AND because I got this machine back in 2012 (though technically a 2011 build), it doesn't qualify for any support for less than a $100 service call from Acer/Gateway so its not like I can just call them up and say "Hey, you botched the BIOS for this model, what gives?"

Here's my dilemma, was recommended on EA forums post that, thanks to my shiny new SimCity 2013 induced BSODs (that were not occurring prior to my loading and playing this game and, secondarily, never occur any other time outside of play this game), to upgrade the BIOS. I come to the support site at Gateway to find, low and behold, a new BIOS version! Match my model number (you do have to pick a model number to even get to the downloads page), click the BIOS tab, download the BIOS folder, unzip to desktop, nav to Win folder and double click the .bat "Flash" file (no, no other files are zipped within the "BIOS_Gateway_P11.A4_A_A" folder and yes there is a "P11-A4.CAP" file in the "Rom" folder that sits on the same folder level as the Win file), CMD window opens and runs through a prelim % count then errors out with Error message "3- Error: ROM file size does not match existing BIOS size."

Please advise...

@GhislainG , as explained, yes I fully extracted to desktop (folder open in SS is open folder of fully extracted files on desktop)... yes, logged in as full admin +this is a personal computer, I personally set it up as an MCPC, not buisness use (to which I would be sys admin anyway).

Cheers

Did you ever solve this problem? I am having the same issue.

It looks like Gateway is playing a joke on its customers.
The answer in their FAQ is:

BIOS version compatibility
Why am I unable to update my BIOS?

BIOS versions are not interchangeable. If your BIOS version is P01.xx, you can only update to other BIOS versions for that system that are P01.xx. If you try to use version P02.xx or P03.xx an error will be given stating that the BIOS that is trying to be installed is not the correct size.
