I haven't yet bought the two but I will soon be buying a Ryzen 5 3600 and a B450M motherboard. I found that the B450 will need a BIOS update and that it has to be running to do so, however my current cpu is not compatible with that motherboard and the new one won't work without the update, so supposedly I'm a bit stuck. Can anyone give me advice/instructions on what to do?

Solution
You have 4 things to do.
  1. find a friend or something that has a 1st or 2nd gen ryzen, and use that.
  2. get a board that is upgraded out of the box. (Some boards have been refreshed with like a slightly different model number/name and that says they were manufactured with the BIOS needed for the 3600
  3. Get the store to do it for you. almost all stores, i believe amazon would too, update the bios if you ask.
  4. AMD has a program of lending cpus to upgrade bios, but its a NA thing only, and i don't know how it works.
(since im not from the usa.)
