Hey! Is it possible to update the bios on a motherboard without having any display on the monitor? Like a autorun bios update on a usb stick.
I have a server motherboard called h8qg6-f that I think needs a bios update. It runs 4 opteron processors. I can't get any display and I think this is because the motherboard doesn't support the processors untill the bios gets updated. Linus from linustechtips had this exact same problem with the exact same motherboard as I have. He managed to get display by buying compatible cpus, then updating bios. After he had updated the bios he could change back to the processors that wasn't supported before the bios update.
I would rather not buy 4 new cpu's just to update the bios. I have already ordered a bios-chip for the motherboard (that has the latest update), but im not very experienced with swapping bios-chips. If it would be possible to uppdate the bios from a usb stick, I would try this first.
