[SOLVED] BIOS update not working on ASRock B850I Lightning ?

I have a Asrock B850i motherboard with bios version 3.15. I’m trying to update it following the instructions in the manual. I’ve renamed the rom file PSPBIOS.IMG and placed the BIOSUBU.BIN with is on the drive. When I try to use the flash button nothing happens. There is no LED like the manual says for a start, which makes me wonder if the manual is correct.

I’ve tried using the instant flash in the bios but all it says is “no image file” (even though there is).

I’ve flashed plenty of motherboards, this is the only time I haven’t been able to. I think the manual is wrong.

Does anyone know how to flash the bios on this motherboard?

Do you have a CPU that is unsupported by the 3.15 BIOS? If you can boot to BIOS, flash from there.

Hi. I’m using the ryzen 9700 x CPU and have tried flashing from the bios using the instant flash but it says there is no image file on the usb (there is an image file on the usb).

Is the flash drive formatted in one of the supported formats, like FAT32?

Thanks, I just tired that but unfortunately didn’t work. The motherboard model in the video is different to my one. My motherboard says “there is no image file” even though I created one and named it how it says to in the manual.

Hi, I’m using a usb 2.0 drive formatted to fat32. I also tried a usb 3.1 drive with no difference.

Thanks everyone for your help. I ended up resetting the cmos via the header and it is now able to update the bios.
