Question BIOS Update query concerning ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming ITX ?

So I've been wary of updating the bios on my board for a few years due to Asrock's own website saying I need a Matisse CPU to keep support for my Ryzen 5800X, but I also read of an EFI method but that seems more complicated to do. I'm on version 2.80 and my question is this: Do I TRULY need to use a matisse CPU to update the BIOS over to 5.60?

I'd like to update it so I can use ReBAR and have official Windows 11 support before that deadline happens. But I'm afraid if I update without the matisse CPU I'm gonna bork my whole board and I can't afford take it to a shop let alone buy a matisse CPU to try this with (I haven't swapped any CPU on a PC newer than an Intel Pentium 4 from 2002).

the motherboard you're working with?

If so, you should gradually work your way to the latest BIOS version. I'd make sure you're on the latest chipset drivers before proceeding. If the BIOS chip does get corrupt along the way, you can get a CH341A BIOS programming toolkit and flash the BIOS to the latest.

I can't afford take it to a shop let alone buy a matisse CPU to try this with
IMHO, you might want to weigh the costs of both and see which one is cheaper. if you bork the board, can you afford the down time and probable headaches? I'd take it to a shop and ask them to drop in a Renoir CPU and flash the BIOS to the latest version, then clear the CMOS and clear fTPM key to drop in the 5800X processor back in there, if you're unsure.

I know how to recover a BIOS using the CH341A BIOS programmer, which is why I can afford to bork the board, in my head at least.

That's the board I'm working with yeah, I just want to know if I run the update with a 5800X installed will it bork the bios?

No. It'll be fine.
Those cautionary yellow sentences are only relevant to details within themselves. (hope that makes sense). Sometimes the advisory statements on these websites are a bit too obvious to wrap your head around.
You're only updating to one version newer than your current one.
