Question BIOS update question

I plan to upgrade my CPU from a Ryzen 3 1200 to a Ryzen 5 3600. I have a MSI B350 PC Mate and when I checked the compatibility tab for my motherboard on the MSI website it said to get the 7A34vAL BIOS version but I have been told that I should upgrade to the latest BIOS which would be 7A34vAJ. Which one should I upgrade to?

I don't have the CPU with me at this time, however I plan to buy it either tomorrow or later this week. Are you saying that after the latest BIOS update the 1000 series CPU I have installed wont work with the MOBO anymore?

correct. should have said "won't work".

Really? I've never heard this. A supported cpu should be a supported cpu, no? A bios update shouldn't lose compatability.
