Question bios update

i dont get it everyone is so vague about this, i want to update my 2080 ti's bios to achieve better OC, some people say it's really dangerous and not to do it and that it needs to be done by bootable usb but this article: https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq/how-to-upgrade-your-gpu-bios.1957251/ treats it like something really casual and easy. I did what they said in the article and when i click on nvflash.exe it just lists a bunch of commands and doesn't let me type anything, wtf am i supposed to do?

You can use the guide you posted to flash your GPU BIOS, but you already have an OC model of the 2080 Ti. The very small percentage gain you'll get from flashing to an even more overclocked BIOS is not worth the risk of potentially damaging your GPU that is very expensive and is still under warranty. Maybe try increasing your cards performance using a tool like MSi Afterburner https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner to increase your power and temperature limits. You'll get the same or better results as flashing the BIOS without risking your card or warranty on the card. A stupid question, but when the window opens up did you make sure it was "in focus" by clicking on the window, or tab selecting it?

To answer your question on why it's dangerous to flash your GPU bios, it's because you really only get one chance. If something goes wrong, like you installed the incorrect bios or theirs a power failure, there's a good chance that card is now a $1000+ paperweight. If money is no opbject, then go for it.

My card is already OC'd via MSI Afterburner, i can add 50mhz to the core clock, anything above that it gets unstable, the thing is my max core clock i get is 1995mhz and i see people that say they get up to 2100mhz, my max temps in games are 75c so i don't understand why my core clock is so low compared to what most others can achieve...

Quite honestly, if you have to ask the questions you're asking then this is in no way something that you should even be attempting. The risks vastly outweigh any minor benefits that might be realized.

I mean the article says "double click and type", i double click it and it doesn't let me type so like what now......other people have this problem not just me but they never showed a solution in their posts.
But yeah you guys convinced me not to bother with this, just don't get why my core clock boosts so low.

Nowadays where Nvidia takes the best silicon for their "Founders Edition" cards leaving card vendors with the rest. You're actually doing alright as the factory boost clock is only 1545MHz, if anything it's not the cooling that's stopping you, but rather power limitations.
