So i decided to make a seperste thread on this due to my other one being about something different, sorry if im in the wrong for doing this.

My bios wont update at all through Bios or Ai Suite (Asus PRIME b350 plus)

So im downloading it straight from here https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-B350-PLUS/He... http:// Downloads as a zip unzips as "PRIME-B350-PLUS-ASUS-0513.CAP" That was when I tried updating through BIOS. I then tried AI Suite III through the EZ update on there, If I try to connect to internet to find one it says "There is no need to update the environ" Then when I try manual updating it through AI Suite it comes up with an error message saying "The model of the BIOS image doesn't match the BIOS ROM currently present" I have no idea how to fix this.

I noticed that on the website there are versions for windows 7 64bit, could it be possible that the mobo has something win7 on it...

All parts are new fresh build as of yesterday.

Solution
I know on ASRock boards, the first few bioses needed to be updated through dos mode, they later added the instaflash tool too one of the bios updates, not sure if this is the same for your board.

Once you've booted to freedos, you'll need to cd to the correct drive, the prompt will be on c: but this is probably your hard drive, your USB stick will be d: or a: just dir to check the contents, next just type bupdater /g and the app will open up, select the bios file and flash, do not remove the USB stick until you are safely back in the bios after the reboot.

Here's a picture of the flash instructions out of the manual, ignore the insert support dvd part as you'll already have freedos on your USB stick...

Bios version 0406

Yes I did try EZ Flash 3 when I try and update through usb is says "The selected file is not a proper BIOS"
I try to do the internet method and it can never find an internet connection yet I have the ethernet connected and can use internet on the computer just not with EZ Flash 3

Update: Emailed Asus and they sent me to the exact BIOS I have been downloading...

Could I try a windows 7 64bit BIOS download even tho I have win 10 64

PRIME B350-PLUS BIOS 0513
1.Improve system performance.
2.Make CPU temperature more precise.

My CPU temps on idle dont seem right in BIOS they say 55 (I am using the wraith spire cooler) but when I go onto desktop and open Ryzen Master temps are at 38-40. Plus I want to know WHY I cant update it anyway whether I should or shouldnt update it, I want to know the reason it keeps saying I cant when its the BIOS that's on the official website for my motherboard

I know I am opening up an old post, But I am wondering if this is a bad MOBO ended up RMA'ing the other one that had this issue, and now I am getting the same issue when trying to update to the latest bios. Any reason why it says "The model of the BIOS image doesn't match the BIOS ROM currently present"

Have you tried updating through dos mode, ive seen this problem so many times, and dos mode seems to be the only work around.

What you will need to do:

Select your os from the motherboard website.

Download your latest bios file and extract to the desktop

Also download from bios utilities the brenamer app.

Run the brenamer app, you will see the name of your bios file has changed and now you can delete the rename app.

Now go back to the motherboard website and select other as the os, download the bios dos flash utility bupdater, and extract to the desktop.

You should now have 2 files on your desktop, the flash utility and the bios file itself.

Finally download rufus from here: https://rufus.akeo.ie

Plug in a USB stick and run rufus, at the top of the window select your USB stick, next option select partition scheme for bios etc, then select fat32, default partition scheme, label whatever you like, check quick format, create a bootable disk using free dos and create extended labels, now click start, ion takes a few seconds to run it.

Now close rufus and copy the 2 files from your desktop to the USB stick.

Reboot the computer and boot off the USB stick, the command to flash in dos mode is in the manual.

The best method to update your Bios is using EZ Flash 3 Utility in Bios.
The reason you have been unsuccessful is not renaming the Bios file from "PRIME-B350-PLUS-ASUS-0513.CAP" to PRB350PS.CAP. Once renamed it will be recognised. Follow procedures as per page 2-2 in your MB Manual.
The renamed Bios file should be on its own on a single partition Fat32 formatted USB stick.
It is a necessity to update your Bios on the AM4 platform for better stability and to address OC RAM.

I will give that a go, Last mobo I had that I needed to RMA had the same issue and I dont these exact steps and no luck.

I have a question about EZ Flash 3, When I go to update via internet in BIOS it goes to the Download zip thing for it, But when I click download it comes up with internet connection error

EZ Flash 3 utility does not use the Internet. You download the Bios file to your desktop and rename then load the renamed file to your USB stick. When you have inserted the USB containing 0805 Bios file into a USB port your Bios should recognise the file and folder. Then you can flash correctly.
Get the new 0805 Bios with AGESA 1.0.0.6a here: https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/PRIME-B350-PLUS/HelpDesk_Download/

I completely missed this reply sorry, been swamped. I will give this at try. So is this a common issue with bios not updating through normal methods or an issue happening to a select few, I dont know if you can answer this, But if I manage to update it through DOS will it fix the issue where I can update normally through USB method or will I need to update through DOS every time?

Like I said, if you follow my original set of instructions, then you wont need to use the DVD, "Ignore the step about inserting the DVD" as freedos will be on the USB stick.
