I've been connecting to the internet for the longest time using a belkin wireless adapter but I want my internet speed to be slightly faster without having to deal with Comcast so the best way to do that is to start using an ethernet cable which I should have been doing this whole time anyway.

So I bought a brand new ethernet cable (nothing wrong with it). I plugged it into the router and then into my computer but it's not doing anything. By this I mean I try to unplug my belkin wireless adapater and I get no internet connection.

So the first thing I logically do is check the device manager to see if drivers aren't updated and it turns out they aren't. My ethernet controller (as well as 2 universal serial bus (usb) controllers) are not updated [however I'm focusing on the ethernet controller for now]. So I go to update the drivers and Windows can't find the drivers.

I NEED THESE DRIVERS! How do I find the ones that I need specifically, how do I aquire those, and then how do I install them correctly so that I can use a simple ethernet cable that should work by default anyway.
