Bitfenix Prodigy EVGA PSU Compatibility

Hello,

I am looking for advice on a very specific power supply in the Bitfenix Prodigy (Non m version). I have already done my research on google and the stated maximum PSU length for this case is 160mm. I would like to get the EVGA Supernova 550 G2 (length 165.1 mm) to fit if possible. Does anyone know if I removed both hard drive bays to the side of the PSU if I could get this specific PSU to fit? I would really prefer the G2 over the GS model because it has a longer warranty and is slightly better overall. Removing both HDD bays won't be an issue as I plan on only using 2.5" drives in this case.

Any help is appreciated.

Won't fit it's too long , the GS is a great PSU.

The Corsair RMx 550watt is 160mm.Can look at that. Or the Cooler Master vsm series,they are 150mm if i'm not mistaken.

Hello SR-71, I understand you are well known on these forums and have answered other questions regarding this cases PSU compatibility. Have you built in this case yourself? Are you 100% confident that the G2 would not fit even though it is only 5 mm over spec? If so I will have to settle for the GS with the shorter warranty.

You are correct, unfortunately I am in Canada and both those PSU's are $20+ over the price of the G2 unit.

Because of the PSU Bay , 160mm is the limit to allow for the cables.​

From that picture, I can see that it's not a question of removing the hard drive bays, the case has a psu cage which doubles as the surface that the motherboard mounts to, which prevents longer psus from fitting, and modding the case to allow longer psus would be risky.

Thank you, I had been searching for a review of the case that showed a closeup of the back of the PSU. Exactly what I was looking for.​
