Hi guys

I'm really in doubts about the Bitfenix Prodigy and matching the Corsair RM550 PSU in it..

Can anyone with a Bitfenix Prodigy and Corsair RM550 PSU confirm, that it can fit probably. Without having to customize the case.

It can fit but the 160mm height may be abit high for a long graphics card such as the 7970 or 780ti windforce, apart you should definitely be ok. I personally recommend one of the efficient bewuiet PSU's, I have one and it is short, silent, powerful and enough to drive a good pc, thy are also cheaper than the corsair RM series. If you are loyal to corsair you could also check out the CXM series of power supplys.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the answer, do you mean "be quiet" instead of bewuiet? Can you suggest a specific silent model?

But they're 7 years warranty, so that shouldn't be a problem.. Do you have another suggestion, i just want a silent PSU.

Power Supply: SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($71.99 @ SuperBiiz)

It's a tier2 PSU ans semi modular, a TomsHardware favorite, and built by Seasonic.

The RM series has been tested and apart from the sub standard capacitors used, has very bad thermal management and the testing was incomplete due to the fact that at the time if test it was shut down due to either thermal overload or was broke. It was also the loudest of the psus tested failing there too.(650w tested)

I can find anything about the noiselevel of SeaSonic meaning that is probably not quite/silent and therefore not an option. Do you have other suggestions?

CX is three years, RM is five. And you still don't want to have to deal with the absurd ripple (and I doubt they'll replace it unless it's completely toast, not just breaking specs).

RM also fails holdup time tests (meaning that sub-second power fluctuations could cause your computer to crash), and a pile of other issues.

I've seen a few references to a 'Smart and Silent' mode on the M12II, which implies running fanlessly. Even if not, it's likely to be quite quiet.

Seasonic make the best psu's and run about as silently as possible. I personally use the M12ii 520w so will testify that its dead silent under low power usage, only getting audible under heavy load, just as any other PSU will do. Since its never been maxed out, impossible with my build, I can't say just how loud it could get, but even while under the heaviest load I could give it, it was still only barely audible.

The BeQuiet Dark Power Pro is virtualy silent and very powerful. I plant to get one of these for my next build, they also go from 550w to 1200w
