Hey guys,
I'm having some serious trouble with Bitlocker
Recently , I Encrypted my E Partition (270 GB) and it all went smooth , I even restarted many times during the encryption with no issues.
3 Days ago , I didn't feel the need for BL anymore so I left it to be decrypted and then went to sleep.
Then my brother wakes me up in the morning telling me that the partition can't be accessed and that there was a power failure and the laptop shut down (On charger without the battery) on 51%.
For the past 3 days I've been trying to fix it , I'm really going crazy because I have the password and the recovery key but every time I insert one of them BL says they're wrong ( I'm 150% sure they're right).
The problem with this partition is it has all my family's photos and videos ( 40 GB of them) , they're really irreplaceable and priceless. I CAN'T lose them.
Things I've tried:
1-repair-bde through CMD ( crashes at 51%)
2-Manage-bde then unlock though CMD ( says password is wrong even though I know it's right)
3-really a lot of things but the above 2 options are the most known online.
Anyhow , the weird thing is that every thing stops at 51% , the same percentage that the laptop shut down at.
Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.
P.S: Laptop is HP 4530s , Hard drive 640 GB , Win 7 Ultimate.
I'm willing to do anything , reinstall OS , install Linux , anything!
Any help is appreciated , Thnx!
#EDIT
Sorry guys forgot to add that when I insert the right password it says "bitlocker encryption failed to recover from abruptly terminated conversion due to corrupted conversion logs or write protected or smthing"
but when I add a wrong password it just says the password is wrong
also on manage-bde unlock it says the password FAILED to open the drive not the password is wrong
hope that helps anyhow.
Thnx again

BL recovery tool doesn't install , but I read on Microsoft that using manage ,unlock , repair -BDE through CMD is basically the same thing.
I don't have a Linux OS right now but if it's gonna fix the problem i'm more than willing to buy one.

No buy. Free and open source.
Download and burn.
LinuxMint

I wouldn't hold out hope, though.

This is why irreplaceable things must exist in at least two locations.

I did some research on Linux and it turns out that only Microsoft's OSs can read the drive so Linux won't even read it 🙁
anyhow i'd like to add that when I use the repair-bde method and it stucks at 51% before it gives a BSOD the cmd gets crazy filled with files with long names but I could make the word LOGS out of them so apparently the message it gives when I enter the password in Bitlocker is cause by the corrupted conversion Logs
So no hope ?
I was thinking maybe formatting it then immediately use Asoftech photo recovery software or what ?

Yeah I've been there
The problem is every thread I've been it's either the user forgot his password and/or lost his recovery key but very few people have my problem.
I got my hands on EaseUS File recovery wizard and though the repair ( transfer stops at 51%) I hope it transfers the photos folder so i'll check with that and will post result
Thanks a lot for your helps and inputs @USAFRet
If anyone experienced this problem before please feel free to help!

Feedback: I tried EaseUS Data recovery wizard and Asoftech photo recovery an stellar phoenix photo recovery software on D: partition ( the one that the files transfers to) I see the pics but whenever I recover them 95% of them are damaged.
My guess is that either while decrypting the files gets corrupted because they're not fully decrypted or when transferring using CMD
Anyhow I think I'll just format it. Though it's super annoying to lose all of my family's pictures and stuff 🙁
