I just finished building a new PC and all I have left is installing Windows 10, which I'm doing from a disk. After trying for a few hours, I tried to do a boot override. The override resulted in a black screen, which I've had for a half hour so far. I've read other posts of people having a similar issue but the startup screen would appear for them after 10 minutes, whereas mine continues to stay black.

The disk I'm using has roughly 28 GB on it, which I assume are different versions of Windows 10 (Got the disk from a friend)

Is there anything else I have to take care of first or anything I should mention?

Sure, I mean rare, but at this point of course worth a try.

What exact equipment do you own.

Thats the plug you need

After looking around some more, I found the SATA cable I needed for the PSU. BIOS recognized the HDD but now it won't boot up the Windows 10 usb. Is there anything more that I have to take care of for it to start up the installation?

Also, thanks again for your help. Pissed at myself for wasting several hours looking for the right drivers when it was just an issue with the HDD 😛

Did all of this and still got the same issue. I'll try clearing the USB and setting it back up w/ the ISO file, as that worked the first time when I stopped the setup.
