Specs:
MSI Gaming 5 Z97 Motherboard
i5 4690k
EVGA GTX 580
8G crucial ballistix Ram
1 TB WD black HDD

I installed the nvidia drivers for my 580 on windows 10 and suddenly display stopped showing. The monitor was on and it said it was receiving active display but the whole screen was black. I plugged the display cable into the motherboard which works fine and tried uninstalling the nvidia drivers. That didn't work so installed a fresh set and tried again. Still no luck. I tried following the steps given in this article (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1651132/black-screen-installing-latest-driver-asus-nvidia-geforce-gtx-660-windows.html) but that also didn't seem to work. I fully reset windows 10 and tried the steps from the article with still no prevail. Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong and/or how I could fix it? Thanks in advance.

there are thousands of GTX580 owner out there. could be the card simply on it's way out or it is driver specific issue. got to RMA my 970 (probably some of the circuits being burned because of manual overclokcing) and now using my 660SLI back. they said SLI is not working with win 10 but so far my 660SLI is doing just fine. in fact it seems to be better than how i remembered it with my win 7 setup lol.

Same thing with newest and 382 driver.. I have GA-G31M-S2l and c2d e8400 with zalman zm-600GSII psu. Nvidia is disabling old card's i should say (Blower style gtx 580 from the early production)

my GTX460 working just fine with the latest WHQL driver (372.54) running win 10. that is even older than your 580.

This can be something like the kill chip... idk.. My pc just blacked out the screen after 3 hours of chill (Just windows 10's pulpit) and after reboot there is some small artefacts and that problem what autor do have. Im waiting for my heat gun to come tomorrow - repair or burn xd

And there is one thing.. Your's gpu doesnt need to be older. U can buy a brand new gtx 750 nowadays. When 950 is here and 1050 is on their way

I started using it by December when my psu (not a zalman what i use now) come.

I have the new one now.. (rx460) but it's weird that the autor of post and i have the problem with the same graphics with the same problem in one time... Team Red coming!
