Black Screen and a blinking cursor.

Hi,
The other day I was playing L4D2, I started having lags and my computer kept freezing, I then closed everything and wanted to restart it, I pressed restart and it didn't do anything, i pressed it again and waited 5 minutes before completley shutting it down, after the boot up i recieved a black screen and a blinking cursor and here I am stuck with what to do. I tried several videos but these steps eventually stop working.

PC Specs:
Windows 7
Intel Core i3-4130 CPU 3. 40GHz
Gigabyte H81M-S2PV
16GB RAM DDR3 1600 MHz
Msi Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti Gaming X
800 GB SATA Hard Drive + 500GB Sata
600W Power Supply

Hi,

Most likely the hard drive is defective, needs to be replaced.
Install the disk in a known working computer to see if it is detected and / or if data is available on it.

You can also try to boot with winx installation disk to see if you can repair windows but if the drive is failing, the problem will get worse and lost of data will be inevitable.

Yeah, I was either suspecting the hard drive or the ram, I recently bought them both and when i tried installing an application last night on the hard drive, it wouldn't finish as a error popped up with a corrupt disk. The application was on steam and i then decided to use one of steams options to "Repair download drive" and i think that might of triggered something in the hard drive. But the wierd thing is that it was working perfectly fine for the last couple of months. Should I remove the hard drive and see if it will work? ( btw that hard drive is disk E, only containing games as I didn't want to mash games up with work and documents, thought I'd point out)

New problem, Now I recieved a message from my pc saying " Error loading operating system"
