Black Screen, Applications Crashing.

So I bought a computer from Palicomp the other day, it came friday, installed with 8gb of RAM. I added my own 8gb of ram into two slots but the 8gb is in one slot.

I keep getting blackscreens and crashs when this computer shouldnt be crashing.

IT has 4ghz Processor and 4gb gfx. Thank you

Make sure that the ram sticks are in the right modules and that they are of similar speeds, mixing ram with significantly different speeds can cause a bit of wackyness to go on 😛

If you turn off your PC and open it up there should be a sticker on the ram stick(s) with the model name, look up both of the ram models on the manufacturer's websites and compare the specs of the ram. If they come pretty far apart in their speeds, there's your issue. If not, it'll be the modules, the manual for your motherboard will tell you which slots to put in RAM for a 2 stick module, usually it's the first slot then the other slot that is the same color. And then....if you still get issues I think it'll be just bad ram or incompatibility with the added ram

considering you added ram to it, it sounds like it could be the most probable possibility, but there are other factors that can cause it such as graphics display errors and cpu over heating
