I’ve been having an issue installing my new graphics card and I’ve tried everything from disabling the integrated graphics caed to cleaning out the old drivers. I can’t think of anything else other than DOA or compatibility issues from the motherboard. My old GPU AMD R9 380 still works so its not a busted slot.

Motherboard: M5A78L-M/USB3
Cpu: AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core
Ram: 8GB
PSU: EVGA 850 B3, 80+ Bronze, 850W
GPU: Gigabyte AMD RX 5600 XT 6GB

What AMD driver version?

Black all the time, or blacks out after being on for a bit?

Proper power cable connected to the GPU?

Have you checked for an updated motherboard BIOS version?
I was running 20.1.2 before I used DDU to clear it out, even before that I had the same issue. It blacks out after BIOS and stays blacked out but it doesn’t say no signal. I have a 6+ 2 pin connected to the GPU and the 8 pin connected to the PSU its the only configuration it would allow.

And the only update the motherboard has is the same version I’m running currently

I managed to fix it! I downloaded the new drivers through my integrated graphics card and it managed to get it working. It’s detecting my graphics card and through the correct input display. There was also some fiddling with the BIOS settings the get to the actual OS, but it seems to be a freak accident. (Changing to order BIOS uses PCIE slots)

Hi BadgerOfHoney, need your help! I recently bought a powercolour RX 5600XT Red Devil and I am having exactly the same problem as you. I have the same motherboard as you, AMD FX6300, 16gb ram and 500w 80+ PSU. I have managed to use the integrated graphics to download the correct drivers for the card and the card is detected in device manager as well as the AMD adrenaline software. I looked in HWMonitor and the card is on 0% usage. I have tried using DDU to install new card and still a black screen at startup. I thought it could be my power supply as it is the minimum recommended but then you had the same problem with an 850w. I am only using the cards HDMI port as I don't have a DisplayPort cable. The cable works as I use it with my old GPU (AMD HD7870), so I guess it could also be the cards HDMI port, although it shows the bios. Would you be able to go through the steps in windows and the bios you took to get it working? Thanks.

I also have the same mobo, 4350, 16gb ram and a 600w psu. R9 380 still works fine.

I'm in the same position trying to get the 5600XT working. It's installed and can be seen on device manager.

If I boot with the integrated graphics I can run the screen from the 5600XT as a second screen but the primary card is still the integrated graphics so I can't run games.

I've tried all the different boot options in the bios but all options lead to a black screen when it goes to Windows. I've tried the latest approved whql drivers and the later ones again which aren't whql.

I'm going to get a display port to hdmi adapter to see if that's the issue. Otherwise I don't know what else to try.

Any update on your problem? I sent my card back, bought a new one but still have the same problem so I'm guessing the first one wasn't dead after all.

Yeah I tried all the different card outputs and DDU with various drivers to no avail. Tried all the different GPU configurations in the bios. Tried disabling game mode. No success.

My new components turned up yesterday. I'm now running a Ryzen 3600 on a B450M Aorus motherboard and the 5600XT works great.

One more thing did you need to flash a new bios for the B450M or did the cpu work out of the box?

It worked out of the box. I found out that a lot of the boards come with a bios from November that updates them to work with 3000 series Ryzen.

Some product descriptions have been updated to say they're compatible but others haven't so double check the manufacturer website. Boards bought now should be ok.

hi guys I have tried anything to try but I got the black screen just after installing the drivers and couldn't boot the windows the circle get stuck I have tried any of the things you guys said

Have you tried booting windows into safe mode?

If you can, boot in safe mode then use DDU to get rid of the drivers. I'm running 20.4.2 adrenalin with no issues.

What's the rest of your system?

Hi! I've had rx 5600 xt since March and this problem only came for me a week ago. I have the latest windows update and latest driver. Black screen comes in while installing the drivers and it only turns on in safe mode, then I can delete the drivers, after that i can log in normally. Can you help me? I'm using B350-f mobo and R7 2700x. Btw. DisplayPort for gpu.

i have the same issue with my screen going black did you fix it?

People would get far better advice by posting a new thread with your problem specifically described and your exact specs posted. Catch-all help threads are not actually a thing because similar symptoms don't necessarily mean the same problem.
