[SOLVED] Black screen w/sound after about 45min. of gaming

I get a black screen w/sound after about 45min. of gaming. Won't let me bring up Task Manager or do anything but I can still hear the game running. updated to the current drivers on gpu and I don't overclock. My temps don't go above 65c (using CAM to monitor cpu and gpu temps). This is my first rig I built myself watched videos and really took my time with it, kinda bummed this is happening my first time on pc so any help would be appreciated.

X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor (16 CPUs), ~3.7GHz
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
EVGA Supernova 550 G3 80 Plus Gold 550W

PSU connected to the GPU?

CPU/GPU temps while gaming?

Use Ryzen Master to monitor CPU temps.

HWmonitor or MSI Afterburner will work for the GPU.

Temps are perfectly safe, are the drivers up to date?

Ok, so motherboard drivers are downloaded directly from the manufacturer, Gigabyte in this case. Download/Install the newest...

Once these have been updated try gaming again and let me know how it turns out.

Possibly, do you have another card you can use?

no but theres a guy at work that said i can borrow his and he was gonna use mine

That works, if he has the same issue then you'll know it's a defective GPU.
