Hi, recently when i was casually using computer (i mean not doing any GPU intensive task) the sound went off and grey vertical stripes appeared on a screen, after restart system was freezing during boot no matter if linux or windows.
GPU core was overclocked to 1000MHz(850 stock) on core, 1300MHz(1200 stock) on memory and undervolted to 1050mV(can't remember stock value). It was working like that since i can remember and it was fine.
Computer is working when:

  • ■In bios
    ■Booted into windows safe mode
■Booted into windows with drivers uninstalled with DDU.
    ■On intel integrated GPU
What i tried:

■DDU drivers in safe mode and installing new drivers
■DDU drivers in safe mode and installing old/very old drivers
■Clearing whole graphics card with rubbing alcohol and changing thermal paste
    ■Trying different outputs
■Flashing up to date bios on GPU
■Putting graphics card into completely different system

Is there any other way to repair this card?

My specs:

  • ■GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD7850 1GB Dual-X
    ■Motherboard: MSI H61M-P20 (G3)
    ■CPU: Intel i3-3220
    ■RAM: 1x8 GB ADATA AD3U1600W8G11S
    ■PSU: EVGA 500W (100-W1-0500-K2)
Thanks for help :)

Solution
My bet is that GPU is faulty as it won't accept drivers anymore.
That is a common and a well known problem with older GPUs, and sadly there is no solution to that as far as I know.

It was changed back to stock when i DDUed drivers and/or flashed it, it makes no difference :/
Also tried it in different system

This mobo has only one PCIEx16 slot, but different gpu was working fine through it.

As i said, i put gpu into completely different system, with different cpu, mobo, ram and psu. The screen went black when drivers were installed
