Black screen with cursor

Hello, I went on today to go browse the internet and play some games, and I go to login on my Windows account and when I do, I am just welcomed with a black screen and a movable cursor. I can run ctrl+alt+delete and start up chrome.exe. I tried to run explorer.exe but it gives me an error saying, "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142) Click OK to close the application." Next I tried typing in "msconfig" and unchecked everything except appreadiness. It worked,I could see my desktop and everything, but my audio wasnt working, nor could I connect to the internet. I then next tried to open regedit.exe to change shell to explorer.exe, but it already was like that, and now I am just stumped and I have no clue what to do. I also am not a very techy person, so please try to say stuff in my language. Thank you!

First: Stay out of regedit.

Clean boot and look for the culprit application(s). Does appear to be Explorer but verify if at all possible.
