I had an Nvidia GT 610. Now i switched to a Radeon hd 5870.. i installed in on the slot , yes i plugged the 6 pins connectors.. yes, i updated my bios and still get a black screen. Yes i tryed to start in safe mode still don;t work.. what can be?

Solution

You need an "active VGA adapter" for it too work. a regular adapter will not work moving from digital to analog. VGA is analog.

vga cable with dvi adaptor. I used on gt 610 a vga cable, then i seen this gpu have only dvi and hdmi so i bought an dvi adaptor to connect the gpu

And with that price i can buy directly and dvi or hdmi cable. So what's special witht that ''StarTech.com DisplayPort To VGA Adapter – Active – 1080p – DP to VGA Adapter ''?
Is same think if i buy directly a hdmiI cable? My monitor have 2 hdmi and 1 vga ports

can you answer pls

It just needs to be "Active" since it is digital from the card going to analog display. DVI to HDMI would work both are digital.
