As in Gigabyte ? MSI who makes the card

ASUS' webpage lists 24 different version of RTX 3060.

On the back of the card there should be a serial number on small sticker on the box there should be one as well.

Anyway not much you can do till you can get new psu installed. Another thing you can do on the old psu is on the PSU side is use a different 8 pin connector to the PSU you should have at least 2 marked pci e or GPU.

As I stated before it could be that the current cable is tied to the same rail as CPU. I've owned a ocz that refused to start a gpu because of that.

I had that PSU running a lot of pcs I'd built back in the day, no problems

I'm not hiding anything ! I've been told it's the PSU so have ordered a new one so if that doesn't do it I will return it

The only reliable test is to swap it out with a another PSU, which you've already done.

As stated only with a PSU swap . But I'm not surprised it's a dead rail to be fair it's had a long life and done well. Power supplys tend to only have a life of 5-7 years most can last 10 if looked after.
