So I went to restart my computer because I feel like it freshens things up and there was an option that said "update and restart" which I clicked.

After the system restarted I was met with this page http://imgur.com/a/zL1bQ for 45 minutes.

Started googling options. Most suggested I unplug everything from the computer, which i did with no change.

Also tried the suggestions from this page

  • I performed step 1 with no improvement
I went to step 2, but couldnt find how to boot into safemode with networking

I then tried the steps on this page
I skipped all the way to step 4 because that's really the only applicable step.

I can get to the BIOS screen, but I cant find anywhere to boot into safe mode.

I can also get to a diagnostics page with Dell SupportAssist that says "Your system seems to have trouble starting. Dell SupportAssist is scanning your hardware for a possible cause." The diagnostics don't turn up any problems.

So here I am asking for help

Update: I managed to get into the "blue screen" recover options window. I restored to the point made right before the update this morning.

The computer when through the restoration like normal and rebooted to the eternal spinning wheel.

Update2: The wheel went away but the screen is still black and i can move my cursor - http://imgur.com/a/N4Fz8 and the computer responds to me connecting my second monitor.

i'm going to try and get back to the recover options and boot into safemode with networking to maybe roll back my graphics drivers.

Update 3: booted into safe mode with networking. There was a message that said "your system recover has completed successfully" I sent ahead and restated for fun, which didn't work. Going to reboot in safe mode and try and roll back my graphics drivers

Okay yes i tried that. The computer doesn't actually have an easily removable battery so I unscrewed the back manually unplugged the wires, held power for 60 seconds then plugged it back in and tried booting again.
