black screen...

Hello,

when I startup crysis 1.21 (updated) on my new build (Q9550 with 4870x2 also with latest drivers) I get a black screen and then the pc reboots. All other things work correctly... Crysis never worked not even without the updates.
I'm using Vista64 with 8mb DDR2 so hardware should be ok ;-)

Any idea's?

BTW I did not do any OC untill now, but I was looking at the ATI overdrive but I can't seem to change anything in there (all light grey, now it is set on 507 GPU clock) is this normal?

It sounds to me like it could be a power issue.
What PSU are you using in your system?
Do you have any issues with any other games?

Also, are you using ATI's latest 8.9 drivers?
If not, uninstall your current drivers, update and try again.

It could also be software error in the game itself. Try to stress with this and see if it crash. Stress mode, default resolution, no AA.

Power should not be a problem, I have a 1000w psu and only one 4780x2.
I did the test and it passed without any problems with an average of 72fps at 1920x1200 no AA and 4356 score.
Maybe it has something to do with full screen mode or so because I hear a background sound of what I believe is a menu...
