Hi everyone

I own a laptop which originally came with windows 7. During the time when Microsoft was releasing free windows 10 update I followed the crowd and did the update.

Recently, I made a massive mistake and ruined all the permissions on my laptop, so i decided to download a windows 10 boot drive and use that to do a clean install of windows 10, removing all partitions and creating a new one for windows 10.

Everything went smoothly, I successfully downloaded windows 10 and restarted my laptop. I managed to see one windows 10 logo before everything blackscreened. Now, whenever I restart my laptop I always see the first windows 10 logo, then a blackscreen.

I have done a bit of searching and I believe that the problem lies in either the fact that my laptop had windows 7 on it to start with, or that my graphics drivers aren't installed.

I have attempted to start using safe mode, and I was told that the laptop was unable to do that.

Any help would be appreciated. Any help/ suggestions/ questions?

Hello Chadders101

Can you please try this:

Power on your laptop, and as you see the Windows 10 logo, long press the Power button to shut the laptop down. Repeat the process for two more times, and your laptop will enter into Automatic Startup Repair mode which may fix the problem.

If it couldn't, you can try the solution given here and see if it works.
