I always play my laptop projected to a monitor, laptop itself wouldn't have any problems tabbing in and out. But after projecting to monitor, all games (fullscreen) will have blackscreen each time i tab in/out for like 5 seconds each time. Borderless reduce performance too much, I have to play in Fullscreen mode.

Resolution for both is same (1920 x 1080). I don't know what else info I should provide. I'd appreciate any help.

Solution
Is the refresh rate and color depth the same? Could be the projector--I have TVs that blank the screen for that long to resync when changing modes, even to pop up a UAC box + dismiss it so it's really annoying.
Alt tabbing in and out of games can be a fairly taxing task on a PC. This is probably normal for your system, depending on what hardware you have, and what games you are playing. My desktop with a i5 4670k, 24 gigs of ram, and a 1060 6gb takes about 3 seconds of a black screen to tab in and out of GTAV. Games like CS Source are pretty much instantaneous, but more demanding games can take a bit longer.

And if you're running a second monitor with your laptop, this will put even more strain on your system, because not only is it running two screens at once (unless you are just using the second monitor). Also, even if you are just using the one, it could simply be the fact that you're running video through a hdmi cable (or whatever you're using), and not through the integrated cable that runs to the laptop display.

Will it help if im using VGA only? I'm always on "Project to Second Screen" only.
I have i7 6700 @2.6Ghz
8gb ram
gtx950m
but i tried on my laptop without the monitor, it works smoothly, no blackouts during tabbing
by any chance will the problem be the monitor?

Its Dell SE2417HG

Oh and I only play Overwatch, not a game that needs crazy specs to work on

Refresh rate is, color depth im not quite sure.
Will response rate affect too?

Alright guys, I found the bug myself.
Apparently, my Intel Graphic Settings and the Settings inside Control Panel is messing around.
On the Intel Panel, it shows both at 60hz, but when I scroll through the default control panel, one is on 59 and one is on 60, there settles the little bug.

Thanks for the help Slumy and BFG.
Appreciate lots. Thanks
