Blank DVD use as USB

I just created a blank dvd usb as a usb flash in windows 8 and i put files on it but then i plugged it in my other PC which is windows 7 it reprompts me to when how to use the disc again? why it cant read my files over windows 7? is it not backward compatible?

Are you trying to upgrade your windows 7 to 8.. if not i dont see what you are transferring your files in disk format just transferred them normally

Nope. im trying to use the cd from two different windows version which is 7 and 8
on windows 8 files are showing up but when i plugged it in windows 7 files in there wont appear and prompts how to use the blank cd again(start from scratch when you use the blank cd for the first time)
