I've just built my first PC and I installed Windows using a boot USB to my SSD. I had no problems with the installation, I just simply got a notification that my display driver needs an update. I've been told that it's better to do the "Check for Updates" feature first before downloading my own drivers. So that's what I did. However, just after starting the download, my screen went completely blank while everything else was working properly. I thought it's normal so I left it running for 2 hours straight, but it didn't solve my problem. I've reinstalled Windows for the 5th time now and the same thing keeps happening. Even after not connecting to the internet and installing the lastest AMD drivers first.

Restarting my PC doesn't help either as it just boots up with a blank screen.

Update: I've managed to get into Safe Mode and uninstall the AMD drivers. After restarting, the display was working fine, until I restarted "Checking for Update".

I have similar issues too. After uninstall it worked for a while not until when the driver get installed.

Hey d_chew, try using a different HDMI cable. Back when I had the problem, it turned out to be just my cable being out-dated, so when I installed the new drivers, my screen turned blank because the cable wasn't able to output the required resolution.
