I think the mian problem about this "rage" is that players who actually bought the game think, that we who dont like d3 are calling them stupid for buying it.
We are more angry because blizzard is treating everyone like we are stupid and we cant decide for ourselves what we want (Reminds me of apple a bit).
For example, ill state my case:
I bought Starcraft 2 the day it was for sale. I played the campaign, and after a small dissapointment for the missions (but just a bit), i went online, and after some months of beta beeing already running, i got to the highest league and top 10 in my league playing with 0 knowledge of the units and what they do.
I was sure this was only because i used to play broodwar, and i was quite good at it, but it turned out that after a year and some months, my friend got to grandmaster doing over and over the same thing, killing very well known players. At that point i quited the game noticing that the game was boring and broken.
Some time after that, since a new patch, i cant play sc2 campaign if im not connected to the internet...
So, all in all, i havent played that game (except user custom maps) for 6 months at least.
Then i heard about diablo 3. Having the expirience of starcraft 2, i decided to wait and see.
After watching a Diablo 3 stream for about 2 hours it was clear to me i wasent interested in it.
In other words, i did my research, and decided not to spend the money on it.
Since blizzard now spends a good chunk of cash on ads, people who havent been playing games like d2, or broodwar for years, and we had to actually buy the same game again because we lost the CD, or something like that... (hell i got 4 copies of d2 and 6 of broodwar myself), might not realize that you dont need ads when something is good, people will do that for you.
If you are spending cash on ads is to tell people that they need or want something.
If anything, we expected better from blizzard...
