I recently upgraded to a Asus R9 390 and added a second VG248qe monitor and now have some strange blocky and wavy pixelation on background images and in game on both monitors including the one i had originally with no change in cables or settings. Removed all drivers with DDU and installed new ones, checked cables, checked seating. Don't know where to go from there without RMA and I don't want to do that unless I have to. Running DVI at 144hz on original and ran an HDMI for the second until my two displayport cables arrive. Color depth is set to 32. At 16 you can really see the artifacts.

I upgraded from an ASUS 280x and never had any issues. I just double checked and the issue persists with only one monitor plugged in and on each separate monitor. If you think that'd do it I can use DDU and reinstall the basic driver from the CD.

Honestly I don't know if that would fix it. Don't use DDU. Just uninstall it normally then install the older driver. When it ask what to uninstall, make sure to select "current driver version" or something like that. What OS are you using? Here is the link for the Windows 10 x64 15.7.1 driver: Windows 10 x64 driver package version 15.7.1.

I have had some strange issues with the Crimson software so I had to revert to the old version. I use a R9 280 and haven't had any problems like that either.

I'm still on 7 and haven't used the free upgrade yet. I'll go ahead and try that out.

I'm stumped as hell, reinstalled old graphics cards and drivers and still having the same issue. I even tried switching to two new DP cables. No idea where to go from here.

I was thinking about that as well but I don't know enough about color profiles to suggest anything useful.

Anyway, you said you upgraded to 10? Have you done a fresh install of it yet? Might want to do that to avoid issues from the upgrade. Reinstalling Windows might even solve the issue.

if there was a color profile issue, as you said, a fresh install would obviously also wipe it out.

try dropping to 24bit color from 32. it is possible the display cannot handle 32bit color. then go back and see if there are more options in the additional settings.

if you did an upgrade to 10, and kept programs and settings, this issue would have carried over.
