If you only have IDE ports on your motherboard (what motherboard is it?) then the easiest thing to do would be get an IDE DVD drive. They are still available, and they are quite cheap (if you are in the US, they may be as little as $20).
Failing that, you can put a SATA card into a slot. Or you can put the DVD drive into an external case, and use USB to access the drive.
There are IDE<>SATA converters, but they don't work on ATAPI devices like DVD drives (only on hard drives).
