Blown computer monitor

Hi
I was playing on my computer when my monitor blew and stopped working. Could this have damaged my desktop and if so how can I check all my hardware is ok. The other problem is I grabbed a spare tv to check everything still worked and started up rocket league and when it opens the screen goes blank like its no longer picking up the hdmi cable.

The monitor dying is unlikely to have damaged anything else. I wonder what cable you are using to connect to your TV and if your TV supports the games resolution. Those two seem more likely than a graphics card which can display somethings but not all. I mean it is possible to have "VGA" capability left and the 3d stuff broken, but that seems very unlikely.

Ok that slightly more reassuring, the monitor made a loud bang which is want worried me. I was going to try it with a different screen tomorrow. Is there anyway to check all my hardware is working correctly, I checked device manager and every appeared to be working correctly.
