Building a machine for playing and ripping Blu Ray. Any recommendations on a blu ray writer? I was looking at the LG GGW-H20L but am open to recommendations. I am looking for a manufacturer that is active in firmware releases and a company that has a solid record of quality optical drives. I wouldnt mind a pioneer drive but looking at the specs so far the LG looks tops.

BTW: Will most likely be pairing this up with a pair of 1TB seagate drives with 32Meg buffers.

Any thoughts?

Victor,

So am i looking for something that is 1.1 compliant but not 2.0? My primary use will be to rip my existing bluray disks. Im not nearly as concerned whether it will play profile 2.0 disks or not but i want it to be able to rip 2.0, i have 3-ps3's that will be my players. I am vaguely familiar with the profiles and what they do but im totally unfamiliar with how the profiles interact with the ripping process. Will an older profile bluray rip a newer version just not see or address the extra features? my goal is to remove all the extra features anyway.

Knowing what i want to do, do you recommend any particular brand or model #?

Thanks
