Ok so the other day i bring my computer out of sleep mode and it shows nothing but blue and green static that is constantly moving despite the screen just being on the desktop. The monitor is a Sceptre x22wg. I know its not the video card because it works fine through VGA so its just the DVI that is messed up. Not the cable either because I replaced that and im still getting the same problem. I took apart the monitor (since its out of warranty anyway) and once i did it showed the display perfectly fine for a second or so then did the same thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

well i know the GPU is perfectly fine and the fact that when i opened it up and messed with some of the inner connections it worked for a couple seconds makes me think there has to be SOMETHING i can do to fix it. but that's me..im a poor college student and need to use that computer since its like 10000 times more powerful than my laptop =P..i read in another forum that i can replace the video card within the monitor but its just a matter of finding where i can get one of those...

I think they were talking about the inverter board. You can probably get one from scepter.

common problem with that model monitor. I have had one that worked for years and still works and I had one in the same batch that did blew the same way yours did. Send it back to sceptre to get repaired if it is under warranty it won't cost you anything if not the repair price will be under the replacement cost so its worth it anyway.
