I run Windows 7 Pro 64-bit on a home-build Core-i7 860 using an ASUS P7P55D Deluxe m/b with 8GB RAM. I have been getting blue screens at random for months, mostly MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x0000001a.

Several memory tests picked up nothing. Switching out my boot SSD and doing a clean Win 7 install did not help. I downloaded BlueScreenView and can now see that 4 of 5 crashes this month were as follows:

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x0000001a caused by ntoskrnl.exe address ntoskrnl.exe+70740

Switching out RAM to pin down something that happens twice a week will be a slow process, and I'm not even sure that RAM is the issue. Is there a way to tell:

(a) Whether this is truly a RAM problem
(b) Which RAM stick this address falls into?

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance :)

Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas.

Removed and replaced the RAM and now the 1A BSOD is gone, has been replaced by C9's. A bad stick that is now in a different slot?

No memory tester finds anything, ran memtest for 7 hours. RAM timings are all set to Auto in the BIOS, no overclocking is set.

Going to post the dumps to http://www.techsupportforum.com.

Well the jury is out right now but the CPU angle sounds depressingly possible, either that or the MB. I will come back to you guys once I know. My thanks again!

I am having the same problems with recurring bsod memory_management 1a problems on my new rig - CPU i52500K, motherboard P8P67Pro and 8gbram(4x2). I can always get it to start, eventually, but it takes anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes. Swapping the ram sticks, one by one, gives some temporary respite, but when next I have a cold start, the bsod is back! Is there any way to test the cpu memory controller, apart from trying another cpu, which is an expensive option if it is not the cause.
